Self Employment Assistance (SEA)
The Self Employment Assistance program replaced the NEIS program in July 2022. The SEA gives further assistance to both start-up businesses and existing businesses who need help. Their key Services are:
One-to-One mentoring / general advice sessions (each person can have one or two of these every 12 months)
Comprehensive Program - 12 months mentoring / general advice sessions (at least six sessions over the 12 months)
Business Health Check (for existing businesses)
Business Plan sessions
SEA Allowance equivalent to the single person’s allowance if you are eligible to receive assistance from Centrelink and are participating in the Comprehensive Program
Business Allowance of $300 towards business expenses such as insurance, websites or equipment. Available if you are participating in the Comprehensive Program
Small Business intensive workshop over a full week
Qualifications and skill sets, such as a Cert III in Entrepreneurship and New Business
